Window Weights

Mars Metal™ provides a wide range of cast and extruded lead window weights, designed to facilitate the balancing of window sashes. Window Weights are available in round, square or rectangular sections in various desirable lengths with or without center holes. The standard center hole size is one-half inch which allows for the use of rope or chain. The variety of sizes we offer provides the flexibility in ensuring the optimal balance is met.

Weights for windows can be stacked to provide more or less weight until the precise balanced point is achieved. Lead counterweights, unlike steel weights, can be easily cut on site if required. All off-cuts can be reused for other weights.

Lead window weights are becoming the choice by many contractors over steel cast weights due to the space savings obtained, approximately 30% smaller than steel with lead being non rusting.

Common Window Weight Sizes
(each weight has 0.5 inch center hole)

• 2" in diameter x 2" long = 2 lbs.
• 2" in diameter x 5" long = 5.5 lbs.
• 2" in diameter x 21" long = 21 lbs.
  
  Stock lengths are 2” O.D. with 1/2” through hole and are approximately 73 lbs each. This extruded lead weight is 1.2166 lbs per inch or .8219 inches per pound. We can cut stock sizes into any desired lengths.

All window weights have a + / - 1/8” cutting tolerance and a + / - 1/2 LB. weight tolerance

• 2 LB. Weights are approx. 2-1/16” long
• 5 LB. Weights are approx. 4-1/8” long
• 10 LB. Weights are approx. 8-1/4” long
• 15 LB. Weights are approx. 12-3/8” long
• 20 LB. Weights are approx. 16-1/2” long
• 25 LB. Weights are approx. 20-5/8” long

Other extruded sizes are available on request and are subject to available stock dies. Custom dies for special runs can be produced at an extra cost.
